Professorship (W2) Social Pedagogy with a focus on didactics of Social Pedagogy

TU Dortmund University comprises 17 departments in the natural and engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences and is a dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion of young scientists and transfer.
The Institute for Social Pedagogy, Adult Education, and in Early Childhood Education and Care (ISEP), part of the Department of Educational Sciences and Psychology, focuses its research, theory building, and teaching on the political and institutional conditions and professional challenges involved in addressing social problems, as well as on educational interventions, assistance and services.
Profile of the professorship
You represent the field of social work and its didactics in research and further develop this with (inter-)national visibility. In doing so, you participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University and are committed to promoting early career researchers. In teaching, you are responsibly involved in the teacher training program in the subject social pedagogy/vocational teacher education for early childhood staff and in the degree program educational science (BA and MA) in the specialization social work. Additionally, you also participate appropriately in the teaching activities of the department.
Your qualifications
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an equivalent qualification. You have demonstrated your research reputation in the field covered by the professorship through continuous publications in recognized peer-reviewed venues, especially in recent years, and have been successful in the independent acquisition of competitively awarded third-party funding. You demonstrate your willingness to expand your research profile through publications in international journals. In addition, you have a clearly defined research profile in educational sciences or social sciences. Additionally, you have the potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration will complete your profile. Moreover, the recruitment requirements in Sections 36 and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act
(Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, HG) apply.
