Profile of the professorship
In research, you represent the field of Digital Musicology with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and develop it further with international visibility. The desired research areas include, for example, the investigation of the influence of artificial intelligence on musical phenomena (e.g. research on generative music composition, algorithm-guided music systematization, music-based formats in social media, or hybrid music performances) or the active use of artificial intelligence in research on musical phenomena (e.g. music information retrieval, digital music analysis, software-supported interpretation analysis, or preference research). In this regard, you participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University. You are willing to acquire third-party funds, are committed to promoting early career researchers, and participate appropriately in the teaching activities of the department, in particular in the degree programs of Music Teacher Training, Music Journalism, and the Master’s degree in Cultural Analysis and Cultural Intermediation. A willingness to participate in the development of a Master's degree with a focus on music and digitality is also desirable.

The appointment is initially for a period of three years as a temporary civil servant. In the course of the third year, this status will be reviewed and may be extended for a further three years, depending on performance. The teaching load is four hours per week in each of the first three years. In the case of a positive review, it will increase to five hours per week in each of the last three years.

Your qualifications
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and already demonstrate initial experience in the dissemination of your research in the field of the professorship through publications in internationally recognized venues, ideally with peer-review. Experience in obtaining competitively awarded third-party funding and the participation in research projects are desirable. Additionally, you have the potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration will complete your profile. Moreover, the recruitment requirements in Section 36 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act (Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, HG) apply.
