Professorship (W3) British Cultural Studies in a Global Context

TU Dortmund University comprises 17 departments in the natural and engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences and is a dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion of early career researchers and transfer.
Profile of the professorship
Your research is situated in the field of British Cultural Studies in a transnational and/or postcolonial context and contributes to the development of the field in an internationally recognized way. In doing so, you participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University and are committed to promoting early career researchers. Your teaching contributes to the BA and MA degree programs of the department (mainly teaching degrees and applied literary and cultural studies).
Your qualifications
You have obtained a doctorate with above-average success and have acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an equivalent qualification. Your internationally recognized research in the field considers several media forms and has one research focus before the 20th century. You demonstrate your research qualifications through continuous publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed venues especially in recent years. You have been successful in obtaining competitively awarded third-party funding. Participation in international research networks is expected. Furthermore, you have the potential for teaching excellence. Social and leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration complete your profile. Moreover, the recruitment requirements in Sections 36 and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act (Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, HG NRW) apply.
